Meditation
"He insulted me, he hurt me, he defeated me, he robbed me."

     Our light shines brighter from within when we can free our minds from anger and hate. When we can learn to forgive those who transgress against us. This is a major part of our evolution towards enlightenment and healing! It is recommended by many healers to practice yoga and mediation each day as a part of growth and spiritual healing.

      Find a calm place to sit. One that is quiet, with little to no distractions.  Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Allow your mind and body to relax by taking some deep breaths and let your mind wander.  Notice whether or not certain phrases come from your heart that express what you are feeling, or what you wish most deeply for yourself or in your life – not just for today, but also in an ongoing basis.

      It is ideal to focus on phrases in your mind that are important yet general enough that you can desire them for all of life, for yourself and all beings everywhere. I personally ask for my light to continue to shine, for my spirit to continue to strengthen and grow so I may heal. Typically, others focus on things like, “May I be happy,” or “May I live in safety, may I be healthy and live with ease.” I ask for peace and unity among mankind, and forgiveness among each other. I am sharing this because I believe that if we can all begin to think in peace, we can start an evolution of peace. 

      You can gently repeat your phrases. Allow your mind to rest in the phrases. Focus on them. If you find that your attention has wandered some, that is okay, simply refocus on your meditation and calmly breathe and think of the phrases you want for yourself and your life.

      You can also call into your mediation thoughts of the lives of those around you. Think about the lives of those you love. Are they having difficult times? Focus on them. Send them your energy and your love and blessings. They will feel you. We have a powerful Universe.  =) By getting a feeling for their presence, you can bring them to you and send them your loving kindness, thoughts, and energy.

      When we connect into the loved ones and into the phrases, we open ourselves to the possibility of intimate loving on a spiritual level, and ultimately we are able to be open to all beings everywhere without merit.  All people, all creatures, all those near and far, all beings on the earth, we can connect into with our peace and meditation. “May all beings be happy, live in peace, be healthy.”

      With meditation, you can rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. You can reenergize, rebuild hopes and desires by extending the heart without exclusion. Through realigning your thinking, your healing, and your energies, you can heal old wounds, set new goals and aspirations, and allow your own light to shine.

      When you are finished with your own meditation, open your eyes, and practice taking your newfound energy with you throughout your day!
